Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE) is excited to be partnering with the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo to present the GOTAFE Building Lectures at this year’s Expo.
The GOTAFE Building Lectures will feature a range of presentations discussing sustainable alternatives to the conventional building market. Topics include windows for a sustainable future, worm farm waste systems, insulated concrete forms, straw bale construction, earth bricks and home sustainability. Representatives from the Mitchell Shire Council and Consumer Affairs Victoria will also present at the GOTAFE Building Lectures.
Brendan Rogash, GOTAFE’s Commercial Manager for Building and Plumbing, is pleased to be part of the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo.
“This is an excellent opportunity to showcase GOTAFE’s extensive range of courses to Seymour and surrounding region, particularly given that GOTAFE has a campus in Seymour. GOTAFE’s sponsorship of the Building Lectures enables the GOTAFE Building and Plumbing Centre to expose the public to a range of alternative building practices.”
Outside the GOTAFE Building Lectures marquee, GOTAFE’s Building and Plumbing Centre will construct a cubby house on site over the weekend. The cubby house will be the major prize in a draw conducted at the conclusion of the Expo.
GOTAFE will have a site at the Expo featuring the wide range of courses offered at its campuses in Benalla, Seymour, Shepparton and Wangaratta. GOTAFE offers nationally accredited courses from Certificate I through to Advanced Diploma courses, as well as apprenticeship training and short courses.
GOTAFE’s sub brands, the National Centre for Dairy Education Australia (NCDEA) and National Centre for Equine Education (NCEE), will also have sites at the Expo so that people can learn more about the specialist dairy and equine courses offered.
